OPINION
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho certainly looked comfortable from the off during the first half of his team’s clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday. He was straight into the game, spraying passes about and looking to give his side some attacking impetus from deep. The turnaround he has made at Anfield in recent months has been extraordinary. It wasn’t long ago that people were hypothesising that he could be sold in January because he hadn’t made the lightning quick start to life in English football that everyone expected him to. However, he has since become one of the first names on the team sheet for manager Jurgen Klopp, and that was demonstrated once again on Saturday. He is primarily a defensive-minded player, of course, but that didn’t stop him from dictating play from deep and spraying the ball about with aplomb. He is now a vital player for this Liverpool team and that was made glaringly obvious once again in the first period against Palace.
