Christian Pulisic, a player long linked with Liverpool, signed for the club’s Premier League rivals Chelsea on Wednesday, as per the Blues’ official website. talkSPORT suggested the Reds were set to fight off Chelsea and Arsenal for the American as recently as last week, but he is now very much a Chelsea player. The reaction from the Liverpool supporters seems to be one of acceptance. It appears that the majority of fans would have liked to see Pulisic at Anfield, but are not necessarily devastated that the move didn’t come off. Many of them have referenced the rise of winger Harry Wilson on loan at Derby County this season as a reason why they’re not too bothered about missing out on the Borussia Dortmund man. That places a lot of expectation on the Wales international, and frankly it’s unfair to place him in the same category as Pulisic at this stage of his career. Still, there’s no reason for Liverpool to be unduly upset about this development. They have more than enough attacking talent already, so the fans’ reaction makes sense.

There seems like a real desire from Chelsea fans for #lfc fans to be gutted about the #Pulisic deal. I’m genuinely not getting that vibe. I’m sure he’ll be a great player for them but I don’t think that there’s a strong feeling amongst Liverpool fans that we desperately need him.

Don't don't know why some fans are up in arms about us not signing him. I'm quite ok with it, we are definitely going to sign a better player for less. Thought Pulisic coming #LFC was more of a PR move than a need. Could be wrong but #CFC overpaid & Hazard is out.
