COMMENTARY
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita featured in the 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Monday and had a large number of Reds fans writing him off after his latest display. Several destroyed his performance that didn’t help stop the Reds crashing out of the FA Cup with one even harshly questioning his attitude as they describe him as not looking bothered. While’s true that Keita struggled against Wolves, some of the criticism below is harsh to say the least. The midfielder, who earns £120,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), only arrived at Anfield in the summer and he is clearly still settling in. There may be other summer signings, see Alisson Becker, who have been able to hit the ground running at the club but that doesn’t mean everyone should be expected to be an instant hit. Keita has had to battle a couple of injury concerns this season which hasn’t helped him and it’s way to harsh to make big statements such as calling him the biggest disappointment of the season just yet.

He’s been the biggest disappointment of the season. Expecting so much from him

Naby Keita was poor again last night. Feel bad for him though as he isn't getting a run of games. Did nothing last night though to suggest he deserves a run ahead of our other midfield options #LFC #ynwa

Keita is offering nothing and never makes runs off the ball.— The Anfield Talk (@TheAnfieldTalk) January 7, 2019

I think he’s lazy. No real urgency to force Klopp to keep him in.

he's not lived up to his rep since arriving at LFC would not miss him if he left soz

Really disappointed in him so far, not the player I thought he was going to be?
