Liverpool are set to make an approach for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala in the coming weeks, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Italian outlet claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side are “serious” in their interest for the Argentine international, who is paid around £120,000 a week in Turin [Daily Express].

The 25-year-old superstar has hit nine goals and registered six assists for Juve in all competitions this season.

OPINION

This would be an incredible signing if it came off, but whether it does or not is a different kettle of fish. The Argentine is a supremely talented player, and one who would surely fit right in alongside attacking talents like Sadio Mane, Mo Salah, and Roberto Firmino, but luring him away from a club of Juventus’s size will never be an easy task. Some of the spotlight has been taken off Dybala since Juve moved for Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, and while he is no longer the main man, he appears to be enjoying playing alongside the Portuguese maestro. That being said, Dybala is 25 now, and he will really be interested in kicking on and hitting his prime. There have been moments of sublimity littered throughout his career, but consistent greatness has kind of eluded him, and he may feel that the time has come to move to newer pastures in search of the extra spark that can make him one of the best in the world.
