Liverpool are a monumentous 15 points ahead of Tottenham in third place in the Premier League, so it is not like the fans will need to worry about any surprises being sprung.

However, the latest comments from BBC pundit Garth Crooks on ‘Final Score‘ will surely have them worried about the threat Spurs could pose – something which could seriously derail their chances of winning the title.

“To go to Anfield and hurt the prospective Champions, would be a massive boost for Spurs, their fans when they are about to go home to their fantastic stadium,” he said.

“Psychologically, Spurs are on the up. Spurs are a very dangerous team for Liverpool tomorrow.”

He is right – with all the hype that is surrounding their new stadium, Spurs are bound to have high confidence at the moment. Not only that, they also have the quality to do damage to Liverpool on Sunday. Those two mixed together does not bode very well for Jurgen Klopp’s players in the slightest.

Yes, they are at home – that perhaps is something that does not count against them. That being said, Tottenham also want to secure a top-four finish, and a win over the Reds will bring them one step closer to achieving that.

There have been times this season where Liverpool have not looked the most convincing, scraping narrow wins over the teams towards the bottom of the table. This will only give Tottenham more impetus to inflict some misery on them tomorrow.

If anything, Liverpool have a lot more to lose tomorrow than their opponents. A loss would result in them falling even further behind in the title race, and that is the last thing that they need to happen after Manchester City beat Fulham on Saturday.

Either way, many of the fans will surely be sweating buckets after Crooks’ remarks, as he has just reinforced how much of a threat that Spurs can pose.
