OPINION
Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was substituted after picking up a muscle issue while playing for the Reds’ U23s side on Friday night, the club confirmed on its official Twitter account. The news is a real blow for a player who was making his first appearance since picking up a serious injury against Roma in the Champions League around 11 months ago. The Liverpool fans are rightfully disappointed with the news, although the one supporter suggesting the club should sell Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer is clearly way off base. The England international hadn’t played football for almost a year and had put in a 4o minute stint, it’s no surprise that he experienced some tightness in his muscles. That’s likely a natural reaction after this long out. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and we see him back again soon because he could be a key player in the Premier League title race.

To bad we can’t sell him, hope he recovers and we sell him in the winter or next summer. Tired of players like him, Lallana, Sturridge, Origi…
