Liverpool no doubt have one of the best attacking lines in Europe at the moment, but it is fair to say that they cannot rest their hopes on certain players.
The likes of Sadio Mane have been leading the scoring front recently, while Roberto Firmino is usually given the nod to start up front. Mo Salah is not the electric centre-forward that we saw last season, but he is still effective all the same.
However, you cannot rely on these players to deliver the goods week after week. More reinforcements are needed in this area, and they should look at none other than Luka Jovic, who is currently on loan at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica.
Don Balon have reported that the Reds are among a number of sides chasing his capture – not surprising considering his red-hot form – and they must ramp up their hunt for him.
The youngster has netted a staggering 22 goals in 36 appearances in Germany this season, which is a remarkable figure for someone of his age. The Bundesliga is by no means an easy league to play in, but it seems like Jovic is someone who can make it look easy.
This is exactly why Liverpool must swoop for goal machine in the summer. Could you imagine how he would get on playing alongside the likes of Mane and Firmino on a regular basis? It really would be a sight to behold. Based on his numbers, he would rip the Premier League to shreds.
The scary thing is that he is only 21. He has not even reached the peak of his ability yet, which is why Liverpool must swoop for him before he reaches that stage.
They must reignite their interest in him, as he is just too good an opportunity to miss. One thing is for sure, the entire Liverpool fanbase would drool with a signing like Jovic.
