OPINION
In some ways, when you play San Marino, even a win can feel like a loss. The minnows of European football, the whipping boys of every group they have ever been in, are so used to getting beat that it’s not a question of if they’ll lose, it’s a question of by how many. When that winning margin isn’t wide enough, however, it can lead to indignation amongst fans who would usually be delighted with three points. Take Scotland on Sunday evening for example. A 2-0 win over San Marino is, incredibly, not good enough, especially after a 3-0 defeat to Kazakhstan, and many fans rounded on the side with frustration. One of the main targets of this anger was captain Andy Robertson, who was returning to the side after the emergency dental work that kept him out of the last match. The Liverpool player had a night to forget, however, wasting crossing opportunities all match and generally looking a little off the pace. Whether that was because he just wasn’t at the races, or whether it was because the quality of player around was so much lower than what he is used to at club level was a matter of some debate, but either way, Scottish fans will demanding more from their leader in the future.

Not sure what all the fuss is with Andy Robertson. Every time he gets the ball he passes it back. I don’t get it with him being a world class player. FFS it’s San Marino.
