OPINION
After his eagerly anticipated PFA Player of the Year victory was announced, there have been a whole load of people congratulating the centre half on his accolade. Amongst those sending their well-wishes was Brook, who seemed to be thinking the the same as the majority as he showed his respect to the 27-year old. Describing Van Dijk as ‘some player’, it’s clear to see that the 32-year old Boxer respects the work of his fellow sportsman, even as far as uploading a photograph of the defender on social media. Being in the fighting industry himself, Brook knows exactly what it takes to be a champion, trying to work your way to the top to be the best of the best. Arguably, Van Dijk has had a similar journey, after playing his football for Celtic, before moving to Southampton, eventually finding the most attractive move possible in signing for Liverpool. As a result of this hard work and dedication, the Holland international has now been named as the PFA Player of the Year, a true fighter.
