Jurgen Klopp shared that he was so impressed with Chelsea during their win over West Ham on Monday he was left asking himself how Liverpool were notably ahead of the Blues.

The Liverpool manager shared that he watched the Blues’ 2-0 win over the Hammers and their 1-0 win over Slavia Prague and that both games made for interesting viewing.

Klopp noted that during Chelsea’s clash with West Ham, he couldn’t help but question how Liverpool had 16 more points then them and admitted it will be a tough game for his side on Sunday as a result.

“We play Chelsea, twice I’ve had the opportunity to watch them this week, different teams, against West Ham and then against Prague,” said Klopp on Sky Sports News (13:07, Friday April 12th).

“It was very interesting obviously, they had a good moment, good results in last game and obviously when I saw the game against West Ham, I realised, I asked myself how can we have 16 more points than this team (he said chuckling).

“So yeah will be a tough one, but I think we will be ready.”

OPINION

Klopp has certainly done his homework on Chelsea and personally studied them ahead of the London club facing Liverpool. It is certainly set to be a tough hurdle for the Reds to get over on Sunday, but if they do then a lot more people are going to be backing the Reds to win the Premier League title. Yet Klopp’s team do have a couple of advantage for Sunday’s match as they are more rested than the Blues for the clash after playing on Tuesday and will no doubt benefit from playing in front of a passionate Anfield crowd. Despite this the Reds will still need to be at their best as they have to find a way of stopping the in-form Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard. The Belgian international is capable of being a match winner for his side as when he is at the best, it’s hard to stop him.
