Liverpool are in the hunt to sign Ajax forward David Neres along with Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, according to Le 10 Sport.

The French news outlet reports on their website that the Reds have been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old Brazilian, but says that they have not made a “proposal” for his services yet.

The report adds that Borussia Dortmund have already made a £34.4 million bid (40 million euros) for the flyer, who has scored 11 goals in 43 games this season as well as making 15 assists.

OPINION

Neres seems like a promising talent by the looks of it after his Champions League outings this term, and scoring 11 goals as a winger is also promising. He shows that he has the creativity to thrive at a club like Liverpool, with the fact that he has made 15 assists this season showing that he is capable of playing in their attack. Seeing as PSG and Dortmund are interested – the latter have already made a bid for him – he must be a hot-prospect in Europe at the moment. That being said, Liverpool already have a very talented winger in the shape of Sadio Mane on the right and it remains to be seen just where Neres could fit in. However, he can also operate as an attacking midfield player, someone who Liverpool have perhaps have been lacking in recent times. Nevertheless, it seems like they have lost ground in their pursuit of the player, especially with Dortmund already making their move.
