Liverpool will likely demand at least £20million for loan star Harry Wilson if they decide to sell them this summer, according to Football Insider.

The outlet claims that the Reds feel that the Welsh international has the potential to make an impact at Premier League level, but are concerned that he might not be able to break into their team.

The club have already been inundated with enquiries from Premier League and Championship sides who are keen to bring the winger in after a stunning season on loan at Derby County.

The final decision will be made by manager Jurgen Klopp, who will decide whether the 22-year-old has what it takes to be a success at Anfield.

OPINION

This is, to be honest, a sensible stance from Liverpool. Wilson has done tremendously well with Derby this term and there will be plenty of Reds supporters who are keen for him to return this summer and become a consistent member of the first team squad next season. However, we don’t yet have any indication that he will be able to cut it in the Premier League. What Klopp’s team really should do is loan him out to a top flight side and see what he does against better opposition. A side like Southampton, Burnley or Newcastle United would surely love to have an attacking player of his quality in their midst. Then he will get the chance to get properly acclimated to the Premier League before he truly attempts to make the grade at Anfield. That seems like an ideal solution to this dilemma. £20million is a pretty fair fee for the player, though. That’s standard money for a very good Championship player these days, which is all we know about Wilson yet.
