OPINION
Liverpool announced their home kit for the 2019/20 season on their official Twitter account on Thursday, to the delight of the club’s supporters. You can see why they’re so happy, to be fair, because it is a lovely looking kit. New Balance have obviously decided to go retro with this one, with the outfield kit reminiscent of the red shirt with narrow white stripes that the Reds used to wear during their periods of dominance of English football. It’s a very nice shirt, there’s no doubt about that. The crown jewel, though, has to be the goalkeeper’s kit modelled by first choice shot-stopper Alisson. That is, as one supporter said, a thing of beauty. That’s an outstanding kit, there can be no debate about it. As frustrating as it is that teams now change their kits every single season, it’s hard to be annoyed when they look as good as this. This must surely be the nicest looking Liverpool home kit in recent memory. It’s a struggle to think of anything that compares. While with the goalkeeper kit, there is simply no comparison.
