OPINION
After a long and successful season in a red shirt, Virgil Van Dijk was awarded as the PFA Player of the Year, much to the delight of his teammate and fellow award winner Mohammed Salah. The Egyptian forward won the same award last season, and in the meantime took to Instagram to warn his teammate about winning all of the awards in a single season. Both players have had unbelievably seasons so far, so it certainly didn’t hurt to have a laugh and joke between themselves after the defender was awarded with this accolade. Obviously, Liverpool fans found the humorous side in all of this, and a number of fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the exchange between the two players which happened in the last few days on social media. Reds fans will no doubt be hoping that they will still be feeling as positive as this after their Champions League clash with Barcelona this week.
