Tony Cascarino has suggested that Jurgen Klopp is one of the most sought-after managers in world football.

The German has helped guide Liverpool to a Champions League final for the second year running after Tuesday night’s win over Barcelona, and could still see his side lift the Premier League title if results go their way on Sunday.

And alongside Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino, Cascarino believes Klopp is one of the most special bosses in the modern game.

Writing in a column for The Times, he said: “Some people might point to Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus or Real Madrid’s Zinédine Zidane, but if you asked me to name the most sought-after managers in the game right now, Jürgen Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola would be top.

“If there was a transfer market for bosses, their respective values would be phenomenal.

“We’ve come close before with Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger, but any club in the world would now take Guardiola, Pochettino or Klopp.”

OPINION

You would have to agree with Cascarino on this one. What club in the world wouldn’t jump at the chance to have Klopp at the helm? What player in the modern game wouldn’t want to play for the charismatic German? He may not have won as many trophies as Guardiola, but he is still a fearsome competitor, and he has shown with this wonderful Liverpool team that, given enough time and backing, he can work miracles. He has taken this team from Europa League also rans to the brink of the biggest double of them all, and there’s no reason to believe he is finished there. The sky is the limit for the Reds with Klopp in charge and there mustn’t be a day goes by that the Kop don’t thank their lucky stars for having him in the hot seat. A genuinely brilliant manager.
