John Henry has claimed that Liverpool will invest again this summer as they push for a Premier League title.

The Reds brought in four players last summer, but fell short of a first title in 29 years, missing out on the final day to Manchester City.

But owner Henry has assured fans that the club will keep spending.

The American made the admission to Sky Sports News, as reported by reliable journalist David O’Connell.

OPINION

This is just what every football fan wants to hear going into a summer window. For an owner to come out on say that he is going to sanction investment, especially when a club are in a position as strong as Liverpool are at the moment, it can only be a good thing for supporters. The Reds are certainly one of the most attractive teams in Europe, especially if they can pick up a Champions League trophy tomorrow night, and you would fancy them to have a decent amount of money to spend this summer too. Where that cash would be best invested is open for discussion, of course, but you think that some cover in attacking areas will be a priority. Another full-back wouldn’t go amiss either, and there is perhaps even an argument that a box-to-box midfielder would be a valuable addition too. Whatever happens, expect the Reds to be busy this summer.
