Liverpool are one of three Premier League teams interested in bringing former Red Suso back to England, according to Tutto Mercato.

The Italian outlet claims that Jurgen Klopp’s team are interested in the 25-year-old, as are London duo Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur and European giants Napoli and Atletico Madrid.

It would cost any of those teams £33.5million to trigger the release clause in the Spaniard’s contract, who may be sacrificed after Milan failed to finish in the Champions League places in Serie A.

The winger spent three years with Liverpool between 2012 and 2015, before moving to Italy. He scored eight goals and grabbed nine assists this season.

OPINION

Suso certainly appears to be the type of player the Reds need. If you look at the Manchester City and Liverpool sides, the one thing that Pep Guardiola’s team have over Jurgen Klopp’s men is a bit more quality and cutting edge in midfield. The Reds have plenty of functional, hard-working midfielders, but they don’t have someone with the guile of Bernardo Silva or Kevin De Bruyne. Suso has a bit of that magic; the ability to open up a packed defence. He’s come on leaps and bounds since he moved to Milan and is now 10x the player he was when he was at Anfield – and he wasn’t bad then. It seemed like a strange decision to get rid of him when the Reds did, so it would surely be a popular move to bring him back. At £33.5million he wouldn’t cost the earth and if he could make the difference in the Premier League title race in the years to come then that fee would be looked at as an absolute bargain.
