Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing to make a summer move for Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson, according to Football Insider.

The outlet claims that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are considering swooping for the 22-year-old after his stunning performances on loan at Derby County this season.

The Welsh international has been phenomenal for Frank Lampard’s team this term, bagging 18 goals and six assists from 48 games in all competitions.

The Reds have placed a £25million price tag on Wilson after his recent success and manager Jurgen Klopp will green-light his sale if a team meets that valuation.

OPINION

Is now the right time to cash in on Wilson? From a financial perspective it probably is. He’s unlikely to ever be in such high demand again, particularly given how young he is at the moment and what a fantastic campaign he’s coming off. However, is it not worth giving him a chance at Premier League level before moving him on? That doesn’t have to be at Liverpool, there would be plenty of top flight teams willing to take him on loan for a season. After that Klopp could judge whether he’s got what it takes to make a first team breakthrough for the Reds. The problem with that is Wilson might disappoint during that loan spell and his price tag could go down. So Liverpool are seemingly willing to get guaranteed big money now rather than risk losing out in the future. £25million is a tremendous sum for someone who has never made a splash in the first team, but you just wonder whether Liverpool might end up regretting giving up on Wilson so soon.
