Jurgen Klopp has sent a message to Liverpool fans after their impressive Premier League season through the match-day programme for the Wolves fixture.
The Reds manager had a few words to say to the Liverpool faithful ahead of their clash with Wolves on the final day, in an emotional tribute.
Klopp’s message came at a good time for Liverpool fans, after a their miracle win against Barcelona in the Champions League, with the Premier League season coming to a close.
“But what we do here – with our supporters – has brought joy. And it’s reciprocal joy – that’s why it’s special,” wrote Klopp in Liverpool’s match-day programme, as transcribed by the Liverpool Echo.
“I am so thankful for every person who has played a part in this until now.
“Thank you, Anfield – you are special.”
After what has been an unbelievable season for this Liverpool team, it seemed only right that Klopp sends a message to the fans like this. It has been a roller-coaster journey for fans of the club, especially after what happened in the Champions League against Barcelona, which nobody could have ever expected. However, it is always reassuring for football fans when a manager sends a message like this to the fans. It shows that they care about the club, although it is evident that Klopp has a soft spot for the Reds anyway, without an emotional tribute to back that up. Arguably, it will be hard for Klopp and his Liverpool players to replicate or improve on what they’ve done this season in the next campaign, but he will no doubt give it a good crack. The German has become a real fan-favourite at the club since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund, and it is easy to see why. Not only is Klopp an unbelievably talented football manager, but he is also a brilliant person who has shown that he always has time for the fans of the club, which is never a bad trait to have.
