Liverpool could have potentially found themselves a bargain in Diego Llorente with the club reportedly in pursuit of the Real Sociedad defender.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, the Reds intend to make an offer of around €25million (Approximately: £21.6million) for the Spanish enforcer with Sociedad willing to listen to offers.

The 25-year old is highly rated, and will be training over the summer months with the Spanish national side, but Liverpool fans will be hoping that he will be on his way to Anfield before the new Premier League season commences.

The former Real Madrid man only featured 23 times in all competitions this season for Real Sociedad, after missing various parts of the season through injury, however this hasn’t stopped Jurgen Klopp from showing interest in the defender.

Although it was also reported by AS that Llorente has a release clause of €50million (Approximately £43.3million), it seems that Real Sociedad are willing to listen to offers for the 25-year old below that amount, which is good news for the Reds who appear likely to make an offer for the defender at some stage.

If Liverpool were to make the offer, and it were to be a successful one, then this would border on a bargain for the club if they get him notably below his release clause, and could potentially prove to be one of the better signings made by a Premier League side throughout this window.

Llorente would no doubt give Klopp even more of a selection headache if he were to arrive at Anfield, as to which central defender would primarily be playing alongside Virgil Van Dijk next season.

The 25-year-old would be able to excel next to Van Dijk as he is just as comfortable on the ball, as he is known for his passing (Source: WhoScored), and that means the Reds could comfortably play out from the back.

This could help Klopp’s side launch even faster counter-attacks next season, which would only be a good thing.

Bringing the Spanish international to Merseyside would be a brilliant move for Liverpool to make, and the Reds could play a blinder by getting him given that Socieded are willing to hear offers.
