Benfica and Porto are both keen on Liverpool youngster Bobby Duncan, according to Record.

The 18-year-old impressed for the Reds’ Under-18s setup last season, scoring 18 goals and setting up six others in 20 appearances.

Record claim that the Portuguese clubs are expected to begin to move ahead with their pursuit of the player.

OPINION

Losing Duncan will not be the worst thing that could happen to Liverpool this summer, by any stretch of the imagination. He is only 18 and is way off even getting a mention of the possibility of him breaking onto the substitutes bench at the Reds, let alone the first team. What’s more, Rhian Brewster – who is only one year older than Duncan – has much more of a chance of getting in the first team than his teammate. That is proven by the fact that Brewster was named on the bench for Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona, when both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were ruled out due to concussion and injury, respectively. So Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will know that Duncan is way behind Brewster in his development and, due to the fact that he has Brewster still in the pipeline, will not mind if he goes, even if it is on a permanent deal.
