Liverpool have ramped up their asking price for winger Ryan Kent if he is to leave on loan with Rangers and Leeds United sniffing around this summer, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football news outlet claim that the Reds are demanding more than the £1million-plus which the Ibrox outfit paid for his temporary signing last summer, with the winger’s future up in the air.

It is stated that Liverpool are open to both selling Kent for a fee between £10million and £12million, while another loan spell could be given the green light if a club were to meet the increased asking price.

Opinion

It appears as though Kent does not really have a future at Anfield any more and so it seems strange that Liverpool are willing to entertain the possibility of him heading out on loan once again. Surely they would want him to be leaving permanently and getting that eight-figure fee they are demanding for his capture on board. Either way, it seems Liverpool are focusing on the financial benefits his exit will bring, with a hefty loan figure seemingly slapped on his head. This could see the likes of Rangers and Leeds, who are both financially limited this summer, struggle to get the winger to either Ibrox or Elland Road and if there are not too many more interested suitors in his capture, Liverpool might have to send him to the reserves. Only time will tell where he ends up but for now it appears as though he could be forced to wait patiently until someone meets his parent club’s demands.
