Something that has gone under-the-radar in recent years at Liverpool is their loan policy – with young stars being offered the opportunity to go elsewhere and gain vital experience.

Players such as Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent enjoyed successful spells away from the club last season, with loan moves expected once again for the talented duo.

A starlet who may have gone unnoticed at times throughout the last campaign was Marko Grujic, with the 23-year-old playing a leading role in the heart of Hertha Berlin’s midfield in the Bundesliga.

In a report by the Liverpool Echo, the regional news outlet claim that the Serbian starlet is likely to secure another loan move next season, but the youngster is surely set to play some part in Jurgen Klopp’s side after impressing in back-to-back loan spells.

With Alberto Moreno now no longer with the Reds, James Milner will most likely be needed as cover to Andrew Robertson as well as midfield.

Add that on top of the fact that Adam Lallana is reportedly being targeted by three Premier League sides, Grujic could be the perfect option to use as cover for the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Grujic became a mainstay at the Olympic Stadium, making 22 appearances in the German top flight. He adapted to a role in the heart of midfield very quickly with his physical presence a key factor. The midfielder made an impressive two tackles per game on average, as-well-as 2.3 clearances on top of that. [WhoScored]

These stats were only bettered by defenders in Berlin, and at 6’2″ [Transfermarkt], Grujic would offer a great deal of protection against teams who could potentially use the long ball against Liverpool. The eight-cap international won his fair share of aerial duels, averaging over three per game (3.2), and would be the ideal late-game substitution when trying to hold out for a result. [WhoScored]

Klopp could certainly play a blinder by keeping hold of Grujic this season, with the 23-year-old’s rise to prominence meaning any potential transfer budget can be used elsewhere.
