It’s an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan.

With a sixth European title under their belt, and with a Premier League title surely closer than ever, all the signs are that things are looking up significantly for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

And the rapid progress that has characterised his tenure shows no sign of abating any time soon.

With many of his squad of a decent age and tied down to long term deals, Klopp has a great opportunity to keep the spine of his team together and potentially build a real dynasty at Anfield.

And that legacy could carry on with a number of bright young talents knocking on the door of the first team.

Chief amongst them is Ki-Jana Hoever. The 17-year-old defender has been in fine form for the Reds academy setup last season, and capped it off with some equally impressive displays for the Netherlands’ youth side too.

The teenager is no stranger to first team football, having made his debut Klopp’s senior team during the FA Cup defeat to Wolves last season, but if he plays his cards right he could really kick on this time around.

With Dejan Lovren reportedly on the cusp of exiting the club this summer, as revealed by Football Insider, the Reds look relatively short on defensive options, and Hoever should seize that opportunity to use this season as a springboard for the rest of his career.

With Liverpool entering a side into the EFL Trophy for the first time this campaign, he should get plenty of game time at a decent level for the U23s.

The Dutchman has the potential to be world class, now all he needs is the time and backing needed to realise it.
