COMMENTARY
Some Liverpool fans tuned into Soccer Aid in order to watch England take on the rest of the world on Sunday, with both sides filled with ex-players and celebrities. A few of the ex-professional footballers on show happened to used to play for the Reds with the likes of Glen Johnson, Joe Cole and Jamie Carragher taking to the pitch. However it was Carragher who had several Liverpool supporters buzzing on Twitter as they couldn’t help but be impressed by his display. The 41-year-old may have been caught out during the first-half as he allowed the ball to bounce over his head, leading to Usain Bolt scoring, but that was his only mistake. Once Carragher got that blooper out of his system, he rolled back the years in order to be a rock at the back for England. While the defender was not as pacey as he once was, though he was never known for his speed, one Liverpool fan was spot-on to tweet that Carragher “still” has it.
