Liverpool fans in pieces after Robertson injury

OPINION

Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that Liverpool left back Andrew Robertson had suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty with Scotland and could miss the start of next season as a result. That is a major blow to the Reds and the supporters were in pieces after seeing the news. The former Hull City man sat out his country’s defeat to Belgium on Tuesday, with the Liverpool fans not enjoying the sight of him on the Scottish bench. Robertson obviously had a bit of a problem in the Champions League semi-final second leg win over Barcelona, where he came off at half time. However, since then he’s soldiered on and continued to play excellent football in the final few weeks of the season. It’s unfortunate, then, that it looks like the 25-year-old is going to suffer an injury-disrupted pre season. He won’t be able to work as well as he would have liked this summer and will instead have to focus on recovery and recuperation. The young man simply needs a rest now, he’s been playing for too long.
