You don’t have to dig too deep to find out why so many Liverpool fans on Twitter are blown away by the prospect of signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP this summer. The 24-year-old midfielder was in amazing form last season as Sporting won two domestic cups, scoring 32 goals and supplying 18 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions. Liverpool, unsurprisingly, now have the Portugal international on their radar and Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã has even reported that the Reds have tabled a bid worth £40.2million for the midfielder. Liverpool fans are obviously thrilled with this news because Fernandes, as one supporter points out, is something that Jurgen Klopp’s side lacked last season. He is an attacking midfielder who scores goals and supplies assists. Could he be Anfield’s new Philippe Coutinho? That’s surely what Liverpool think if they are bidding to sign him up before the start of next season.
