OPINION
Some Liverpool fans are thrilled with a report from Portugal that claims that Rafael Camacho is on the verge of an agreement to join Sporting CP this summer. Record reports that the 19-year-old is close to agreeing a five-year deal with the Lisbon giants. It is understood that Liverpool have lowered their demands for the attacker, but want a 20 per cent sell-on clause included in the transfer. Camacho has only ever made two appearances for Liverpool and has reportedly turned down a new contract with his current agreement expiring at the end of next season, so this might be making the best out of a bad situation for Liverpool, who need to try and offload the Portuguese teen this summer really. Including the sell-on clause is a good decision, if Sporting agree to it. Camacho’s value could rise in Portugal, so the sell-on clause means that the Reds will make further money on the player in the future, should he improve. Liverpool fans are right to be happy with this update, although some of them seem to have muddled up what a sell-on clause and a buy-back fee are.

I think the buy back clause in Camacho’s proposed sale to sporting Lisbon is a very very shrewd move ..#LFC

Rafa Camacho pending sale to Sporting with a buy back option is not a bad deal.

More on #Camacho from ????: Sporting willing to pay €5m – €6m for Camacho. Much less than Liverpool’s valuation (see below). Will be 20% share on future transfers. Makes sense. Win-Win for all parties as the player wants more game time.
Deal should be completed soon. ?#LFC https://t.co/8CQdXo9TFA— Sumit Haldar (@Sumwitter) June 18, 2019
Camacho to Sporting…..
Bruno to LFC for a cheaper fee?
Am I reading too much into it? Absolutely.
