Football fans will always find something to be indignant about. Even if their side are the newly crowned champions of Europe, with one of the greatest managers in the world game, and a smattering of players who would waltz into any side on the continent, they will still find something to complain about. For Liverpool supporters right now, despite all of their success and promise, there is widespread disgust being targeted at a leaked image of a kit that many believe to be the Reds’ third shirt this coming season. As posted by Anfield Edition on Twitter, the kit in question is predominantly black, with hints of turquoise and a pattern overlaying it that looks like chainlink fencing. It’s not a bad effort to be fair, especially for a kit that will barely be worn, but one detail has got some fans up in arms in particular. The fact that the Liver bird is coloured in blue, or a shade not far off blue at least, has been deemed unacceptable by many supporters, who naturally will see unwanted connotations with Everton and Manchester City. That aside, this shirt is another solid piece from New Balance, even if it is a little left field. Certainly, it doesn’t deserve the disapproval that is being laid on at the moment.
