ESPN published a report on Tuesday stating that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is considering taking a year’s sabbatical from management once his Reds contract expires in 2022. The news, it seems, hasn’t gone down well with the Reds supporters. You can’t blame them for being gutted, though. The German has done a phenomenal job since coming to Anfield, capping it off with their Champions League triumph recently, of course. So no one on Merseyside – of a red persuasion anyway – will be looking forward to the day he leaves Liverpool. You couldn’t blame Klopp if he wanted to depart, though. Management at the highest level must be extremely tiring and emotionally draining, so you would need a break after a while. We saw it with Pep Guardiola when he was at Barcelona, and it looks like the same thing could happen here. You’ll be hoping it doesn’t, of course, but there’s always a chance that Klopp will walk away.
