Ryan Kent enjoyed a great loan spell under Steven Gerrard after Liverpool sent the youngster to Ibrox.

The 22-year-old quickly became a mainstay in Scotland, with his pace and flair causing continuous problems for every opposition defence. In his 43 appearances for the Light Blues, Kent managed to score six and assist a further nine goals during his temporary stay.

Gerrard is reportedly keen on bringing Kent back to the Gers this summer, with the young winger also attracting interest from England, particularly Leeds United.

It was revealed by Football Insider that Rangers are on the verge of completing a loan move for another Liverpool talent, this time Sheyi Ojo after the 21-year-old reportedly verbally agreed terms for the move this week.

Former Celtic star Jackie McNamara believes that his former rivals were bringing in Ojo as they look set to miss out on Kent, with there being little to no chance of both coming to the club for next season.

McNamara said to Football Insider: “There’s been talks of Leeds having a loan bid rejected, so it remains to be seen whether Liverpool sell him or loan him out.”

“Rangers would like to get back him there but that’s why they’re taking the other one (Ojo) from Liverpool.”

This will surely not be the case, and Jurgen Klopp should certainly be more than happy to let Kent rejoin the Gers next season. The only sticking point will be whether or not the Reds will want to see Kent earn consistent football in England.

After seeing the results of Kent’s performances under Gerrard, Klopp should not hesitate in allowing the winger to link up with his teammate at Ibrox, with both having the potential to form a flourishing partnership next season and in the future.
