Liverpool attacker Bobby Duncan has assured fans he isn’t injured after picking up a knock during an open training session.

Journalist James Pearce, formerly of the Liverpool Echo, shared a picture on his personal Twitter account of the 18-year-old forward receiving treatment on his foot after picking up a knock on Thursday.

However, it seems the injury scare is nothing to worry about as Duncan quickly sent a four-word message to assure everyone that it was all good.

“All good all good,” wrote Duncan, via his verified Twitter account.

OPINION

If anyone had started mounting the panic stations after seeing Duncan down injured in training on Thursday, they can now calm down as it seems that the teenager isn’t destined for a lengthy spell on the sidelines or anything like that. It would have been a shame if the teenager’s pre-season had been cut short as he’s currently being handed a golden opportunity to impress Jurgen Klopp by training alongside the first-team. Duncan has featured in both of Liverpool’s pre-season friendlies so far, against Tranmere Rovers and Bradford, and even managed to score during the 6-0 victory over Tranmere. So with that in mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him feature against German giants Borussia Dortmund on Saturday if he is indeed 100%. However, it does seem likely that Duncan’s time with the first-team will end once pre-season is over as the competition to feature upfront for the Reds’ senior team is quite immense. The 18-year-old has to contend with Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster so you feel that he’ll be mostly featuring for the club’s U-18s and U-23s teams in his upcoming campaign. Duncan scored 18 goals in 20 league outings in the U-18s Premier League next season and if he continues his goalscoring form then it won’t be too long before his senior teammates are looking over their shoulders regarding their first-team spots.
