Liverpool midfielder Herbie Kane is expected to seal a loan move to a Championship side this week, according to Goal.

The football outlet claim that the 20-year-old is in-demand after a successful loan spell at Doncaster Rovers last season as Hull City, Charlton Atheltic, Brentford, Millwall and Luton Town are all keen on his services.

Goal report that Kane has been training with Liverpool’s U-23s for the past 10 days and that current Hull City boss Grant McCann, who managed Doncaster last season, is hoping to use his existing relationship with the player and the Reds to win the race to take the midfielder on loan.

OPINION

Kane and Liverpool clearly have an important decision to make shortly if the midfielder is going to seal a loan move this week. It seems Liverpool have plenty of Championship clubs they could choose to loan Kane to, and they need to ensure they pick the right one. Kane impressed while on loan at Doncaster Rovers last season, he scored seven times during 49 outings, and the club ideally would like another positive loan experience to see his development keep chugging along. You feel Hull have the advantage in the race for Kane as the Reds can trust McCann to utilise the 20-year-old as he did just that when in League One with Doncaster Rovers. However, the Reds may be tempted to loan Kane to Brentford as they could be competing at the higher end of the Championship in the coming season. Brentford finished 11th in their 2018/19 campaign, 10 points of the play-offs,  but have already appeared to have significantly strengthened this summer by signing the likes of Pontus Jansson and Mathias Jensen (Source: Sky Sports). So Brentford could potentially end up with Kane as why wouldn’t Liverpool want him to experience the pressure of wanting to finish near the top of the league.
