Northern giants Leeds United are preparing to make a second attempt to try and sign Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent, according to Football Insider.

The outlet claims that the Whites have received encouragement to go back in for the 22-year-old with his expected move to Rangers failing to materialise thus far.

Marcelo Bielsa pulled out of the race to sign the Englishman last month because he believed he wanted to return to Ibrox. However, his team are now thought to be back in the running for the winger.

Fresh talks have been held via third parties over the possibility of a season-long loan for the youngster, after he excelled in a temporary spell with Steven Gerrard’s side last term.

Ultimately this is a potential deal that remains in the hands of Jurgen Klopp. It’s up to the German, really, what he wants to do with Kent. The young winger was phenomenal for Gerrard’s team last time out and made tremendous progress in Scotland, but Klopp needs to judge whether he thinks he’s ever going to be good enough for a spot in the Liverpool first team. If he thinks he might be, then another loan spell would appear to be the answer – because he’s not ready to play regularly for the Reds right now. The decision would then be where to send him on loan. Do you go for another stint in Glasgow, where he performed so well during the last campaign? Or do you increase the level of his competition by sending him to Elland Road and the Championship rat race? Then there’s the third option, which is merely to sell him because he’s never going to be a first team player at Anfield. Those are the choices Klopp has right now, and he must make his mind up for one of them before the end of the summer.
