Liverpool transfer target Nicolas Pepe has agreed personal terms ahead of a move to the Reds’ fierce rivals Manchester United, according to Football Insider.

The outlet claims that the Red Devils are all set to go from the winger’s point of view, and now they just need to agree a transfer fee with Lille for the £70million-rated talent.

The Times reported recently that Jurgen Klopp’s team are interested in the 24-year-old, who is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

However, it now appears that he will be doing that at Old Trafford rather than at Anfield, with a five-year contract agreed, while the two teams continue talks over the fee.

OPINION

Well, the Pepe-to-Liverpool saga which has raged on all summer is about to come to an end. Seemingly, he is headed to United and the massive rebuilding operation Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is undertaking in Manchester. Look, they obviously need someone like Pepe a lot more than the Reds do. Liverpool have an awesome attacking three which is the envy of most teams in Europe. United, on the other hand, have Romelu Lukaku… So you can see why Solskjaer is perhaps more desperate to tie up a deal for Pepe than Jurgen Klopp is. It’s always strange when personal terms are reported to have been agreed before a transfer fee, because is that not tapping up? Either way, that part of the negotiations is seemingly over, and now the Red Devils merely have to agree a transfer fee with the Ligue 1 side. Is this a blow for Liverpool? Not really. They have Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in attack, with the likes of Divock Origi, Rhian Brewster, Harry Wilson, Ryan Kent and Xherdan Shaqiri who can feature in the front three when they need a break.
