OPINION
Rhian Brewster certainly impressed in Liverpool’s friendly win against Bradford on Sunday and while it is fair to be excited about the role that the youngster will play in the first team next season, fans should not go too over the top. Pre-season performances, whether good or bad, should not be read into too much. Although Brewster scored and impressed in the first half against Bradford, they are still a League One team playing against the reigning European champions. Brewster has a lot of potential but fans cannot afford to get too excited by him just yet. One fan even claimed that Brewster is better than Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. Maybe he will be one day in the future, but hopefully that person is joking right not because that’s one massive over-reaction based on one pre-season performance against a third-tier club. It’s good to see Jurgen Klopp put faith in Brewster, but don’t be disappointed if he doesn’t show the same kind of form in the Premier League next season.
