Liverpool announced on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that they are hopeful that the injury suffered by youngster Yasser Larouci in a pre season friendly against Sevilla recently is not a serious one. This is a phenomenally positive update from a Liverpool perspective. The youngster has looked like a real bright spark this pre season in a position where Reds manager Jurgen Klopp needs someone to come through and stake a claim for an important spot in the squad. The departure of Spanish left back Alberto Moreno upon the expiration of his contract earlier this summer has left a massive void behind first choice Andrew Robertson. Obviously James Milner and Joe Gomez can fill in, but that’s not a natural position for either man. Larouci, though, is an orthodox left back. So it’s important that he stays fit and continues to develop. However, some of the Liverpool supporters have simply ignored this update and called for the team to announce a new signing, preferably Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, it would appear.
