It was another night to remember for Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, as he reached the African Cup of Nations final with Senegal after his side beat Tunisia on Sunday. Mane has been his country’s stand out player in the tournament – being one of only five players to score three or more goals, and he scored the decider which saw them reach the semi-final. The 27-year-old has become an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s side and his improvement in front of goal has seen him become one of the world’s best forwards. Mane won the Premier League Golden Boot award last season alongside Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and his international success has led to many Liverpool fans calling for their electric winger to win the Ballon d’Or this year. A group of Reds’ fans took to Twitter to celebrate Mane’s success, despite the fact that an appearance in the final will most likely lead to him missing the first game of the season against Norwich at the beginning of August. Mane was dubbed ‘the GOAT’ by one fan who joined a host of reactions calling for the 27-year-old to win the greatest player accolade in the game.
