Liverpool enjoyed a phenomenal last season, winning the Champions League and also finishing a point behind eventual Premier League champions Manchester City, only losing one game all season. Their squad depth was a concern, with Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane outscoring 13 other Premier League clubs altogether – with injuries to them leaving them a little bare in attack. The Telegraph reported on Monday after the Reds lost their second pre-season friendly in as many games, that Jurgen Klopp was planning on securing at least one first-team signing this summer, something that is definitely needed should his side want to keep up with Pep Guardiola. Many Liverpool fans took to Twitter to react to the news, with many quite skeptical surrounding the news after previous suggestions that the club would focus on youth signings this summer. One fan simply responded by crossing his fingers, ‘Please be true.’
