It seems like every year there are fans who take pre-season friendlies way too seriously and many of Liverpool’s supporters are no different. Jurgen Klopp’s side, reigning European champions, played against Bradford on Sunday and although Adam Lallana has not played much football due to injury in the year, supporters are hardly sympathetic towards the midfielder. Klopp named Lallana to start in a holding midfield role against Bradford and that plan didn’t really work out. So what? Klopp is experimenting and allowing Lallana to build up his fitness before the start of next season. His overall performance in this game does not matter at all, all that matters is getting the ex-Southampton midfielder up to speed. It seems like every game there are some Liverpool fans who are just waiting to pounce on players like Lallana and tear them to shreds for displays. His performance in a pre-season friendly means nothing.

Say what you will about Adam Lallana but you can’t fault his commitment to the Cryuff turn. Even surrounded by 2 players in his own half, the bone head still tries it.
