OPINION

Looking at Liverpool’s performance against Sevilla, Klopp will have no doubt have been thinking that he definitely needs reinforcements this summer. The game was a couple of days after their first defeat to Borussia Dortmund, and add to that the travelling, you can understand a small amount of fatigue throughout the game. What Klopp will also have at the back of his mind, is the fact that influential players such as Alisson Becker, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah aren’t on the trip and the German is being forced to heavily feature youngsters in attack, something that will only hamper his side due to success of Mane, Salah, and Roberto Firmino. Strengthening your side will only keep making you better, and if Klopp wants to keep up with Manchester City next season after only missing out by a point in the last campaign, he must strengthen. Pep Guardiola has already sanctioned the club-record arrival of Rodri, a big-money signing to make after winning the league, and Klopp must follow suit – or face being left behind in the coming years.
