Dion Dublin raved about Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian and shared how lucky the Reds were to have him.

The BBC pundit highlighted the shot-stoppers experience and claimed that Jurgen Klopp had made a shrewd move by signing him.

Dublin then added that he thought Adrian will accept being the No.2 shot-stopper at Anfield when Alisson returns to fitness.

“To be as lucky as they have, over 100 appearances, in the Premier League…the experience he has, he knows the players, so yeah I think that is a shrewd move,” said Dublin on BBC One’s Football Focus (12:26, Saturday, August 31st)

“I like him as a goalkeeper as well, I don’t think he will be No.1 when Alisson is there, but I think he will accept that as well.

“So yeah I think Mr.Klopp has done very well to get him.”

OPINION

Liverpool did land on their feet with Adrian, there’s no denying that. After all, it’s not often that you will find a free agent who is Premier League proven, he had played 125 times in England’s top-flight before joining, that still has plenty of juice left in the tank. So it’s no surprise that Dublin ends up not just raving about the 32-year-old but ends up praising Klopp for getting him through the doors. As if he had failed to in the summer, when Alisson got injured in the win against Norwich City, the Reds would have felt the effects and potentially seen their Premier League title bid go up in smoke before it had begun. However, that hasn’t proven to be the case. Adrian may have failed to register a clean sheet for the Reds in his four outings so far, but he has managed seven saves in his league outings and that’s shows he is playing his part (Source: Premier League). With Adrian likely to come toe-to-toe with the in-form Ashley Barnes when Liverpool clash with Burnley on Saturday, he may soon rack up more saves for the club.
