Danny Murphy raved about Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino following his performance in the 3-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday.

The BBC pundit shared that he thought Mohamed Salah was great against the Gunners and also quickly added that he thought Firmino looked “bang at it” for Liverpool.

Ian Wright appeared to agree with Murphy highlighting Firmino’s performance as he can be heard saying his name in the background as if he was about to heap praise on him.

“Mo Salah was great wasn’t he, and Firmino (Ian Wright is heard saying Firmino as well and phwoar in the background) today, he looks bang at it, but you (Arsenal) can’t defend like that,” said Murphy on BBC One’s Match of the Day (22:54, Saturday, August 24th).

OPINION

Firmino had an excellent day at the office against Arsenal and hopefully, his excellent form can continue. The 27-year-old was lively against the Gunners as he carved out enough space to have six shots at goal, and he made 44 passes in order to help the Reds keep charging forward (Source: WhoScored). Firmino may not have got on the scoresheet for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but you feel if he wasn’t playing then he would have been missed. The 27-year-old looked surprisingly sharp for a player who spent a portion of his summer break on international duty, he helped Brazil win the Cop America, and that’s a testament to what good shape he is in. While Klopp opted to bring Firmino off before the end of the game, that move did see him get the applause his performance deserved. The only personal disappointment for the Reds forward against Arsenal was that he wasn’t able to rack up his 50th Premier League goal against them, and instead, he is going to have to try and get his 50th goal in Liverpool’s clash with Burnley next Saturday.
