Jurgen Klopp should drop Trent Alexander-Arnold and play Joe Gomez at right-back when Liverpool play against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday evening.

Alexander-Arnold, 20, has not been in the best of form in the opening weeks of this season and Gomez, 22, should be handed a chance to shine at right-back instead of him.

Alexander-Arnold did show improvement against Arsenal last week but his display against Southampton the week before was poor and Burnley are going to be a team that is more similar to the Saints than the Gunners.

According to stats by WhoScored, the England right-back failed to make any tackles or interceptions against Southampton and only completed 62.5 per cent of his passes.

It could be worthwhile to drop him for this match and see what Gomez can do against a team that is likely to try and hit Liverpool on the counter-attack by using the height and power of forwards Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes.

Adrian is a no-brainer to start in goals while Alisson Becker is injured.

The ex-West Ham goalkeeper has made a couple of errors but he is still the best option that Klopp has at his disposal and he should start behind a back-four of Gomez, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson.

Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson and the three best central midfield options and should stay in the side while it would not make any sense of Klopp to drop one of the front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool have won all of their last three meetings with Burnley and if Klopp names this team on Saturday, he should see his men breeze past the Clarets and preserve their 100 per cent start.
