Fiorentina have made an offer for Liverpool youngster Bobby Duncan, according to Sky Sports.

The news outlet claim that the Italian giants have submitted a loan bid for the 18-year-old, with an option to make the move permanent also included in negotiations.

Fiorentina’s offer comes after Sky Sports also reported that Danish side FC Nordsjælland had a loan offer rejected for the starlet.

Despite the Reds putting a block on a potential move to Denmark, Duncan was reported by the Daily Mail to be open to a temporary exit over his concerns regarding first-team opportunities under Jurgen Klopp this season.

OPINION

With Liverpool having rejected a loan offer for Duncan only days before this reported offer, it seems unlikely that he would be allowed to move now. The Reds won’t want to lose the 18-year-old permanently, and most likely would have been tempted to sanction the move if there wasn’t an option to buy included. Duncan was involved in pre-season for Liverpool and even managed to score against Tranmere Rovers in the friendly. The starlet also managed to score 25 goals last season for the under-18’s squad and must be patient if he wants to break into the first-team fold. If Duncan continues in this reign of form consistently every season then he could soon find himself above fellow youngster Rhian Brewster in the pecking order. Klopp will give players the chance in his first-team if they are good enough, but being a forward at Anfield means that you must be special, with Duncan needing to score 25 goals a season more than just once before being given a bigger chance than just pre-season friendlies.
