OPINION
Look, there continues to be slight concerns regarding Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defensive abilities, but there is no doubt that he is absolutely phenomenal going forward. We witnessed both those things borne out in the Reds’ 4-1 opening day victory over Norwich City in the Premier League at Anfield on Friday night. Early on, the visitors were giving the game a good go and Alexander-Arnold, like a few of his teammates, looked a bit rusty and slightly worrying defensively. However, as the game wore on, the England international rose to the occasion and really put his stamp on the game. His crossing was superb and he was a constant threat on the right hand side. He put the ball on a plate for Divock Origi to head home the fourth goal, whipping the ball in beautifully and giving the Norwich defence no chance. It was simple for the big Belgian to nod home on his 100th appearance for the club. He couldn’t have done it without Alexander-Arnold, and the supporters below clearly realise that.
