OPINION
Rhian Brewster is one of the most highly-rated young players at Anfield but he has not been used that often by Jurgen Klopp in his first-team. That might be why there are some Liverpool supporters on Twitter who are unhappy to see the 19-year-old forward named in the starting line-up for the Under-23s’ clash against Chelsea on Monday night. With some Liverpool fans, it is hard to tell whether or not they are being serious when they are saying “Klopp out” to such a trivial matter like a teenager, who spent almost all of last season injured, is named in the Under-23s. While it is understandable to vent frustration about him not playing in the senior squad – he should be on the bench in the Premier League at times this season – you cannot complain about him being played in the Under-23s. As mentioned, Brewster had a bad injury last season and it would be stupid to risk a reoccurrence by rushing him into the first-team. Let him get back up to speed in the Under-23s and then see what he has to offer in maybe the Carabao Cup next month.
