OPINION
Jordan Henderson has always been someone who has divided opinion among large sections of Liverpool supporters. However they all seemed to be on the same page on Sunday when the 29-year-old midfielder had a poor game in the Community Shield against Manchester City at Wembley. Henderson is the Liverpool captain and someone who does not deserve most of the criticism he receives, but it was clear this weekend that he was not at his best and Jurgen Klopp needs to keep that in mind going into the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, which kicks off next week when the Reds play against Norwich. For now, Henderson’s spot in the starting line-up is bound to still be his. He is the leader of the team and some of his inspired performances last term helped Liverpool finish second in the Premier League and win the Champions League. Dropping him off the back of one game would be too much a knee-jerk reaction. Getting rid of him would be absolutely ridiculous.

Wow Hendo doing nothing and so slow.
Gini terrible.
Trent and Robbo struggling.
VVD not his assured self.
Salah missed 3 chances.
Firmino looks lively.
Origi is crap as a starter.
Need to win that midfield battle mainly… That's our biggest problem today. #LFC#CommunityShield— My Surname is Khan™ (@ejaz_k) August 4, 2019
