OPINION

James Maddison is without doubt one of the best young attacking midfielders in the Premier League who is not playing for a top-six club so it is no surprise to see some Liverpool supporters on Twitter urging Jurgen Klopp to sign the 22-year-old on Twitter for his display against Chelsea on Sunday. Maddison played well for the Foxes in their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. He supplied the assist for Wilfried Ndidi’s goal with a perfectly executed corner and according to stats by WhoScored, completed two dribbles, made one tackle but completed just 67 per cent of his passes. It was not Maddison’s best performance for the East Midlands side but it was certainly a display that proved he had class and could one day make it for a top Premier League club. Could that club ever be Liverpool? It remains to be seen whether Klopp will try and sign any new first-team players in January so there’s a chance he could eye someone like Maddison next summer. The former Norwich attacker will no doubt cost an arm and a leg to pry him away from the King Power though. If Harry Maguire’s worth £85million, Maddison could be worth over £100million on the basis that he’s younger and an attacking player.
