Mohamed Salah has insisted that he loves Liverpool fans whilst admitting he is happy at Anfield.

The Egyptian international revealed his love for the club and the city as a whole when responding to a question about his future in an interview with CNN.

“I’m happy at Liverpool,” he said.

“I’m happy in the city – I love the fans and they love me. I’m happy at the club.”

With his admission, Salah seemingly put an end to speculation regarding his future in Merseyside after Gary Neville guaranteed that he would leave the club in the next 12 months in an interview with SkyBet.

Salah received his second consecutive Golden Boot award in the Premier League in his second season with Liverpool in the last campaign and has already opened his account in this one with a goal against Norwich.

OPINION

This is the best possible news and the news that all Liverpool fans across the world were waiting to see. Salah is irreplaceable for Jurgen Klopp in this Reds’ set up, and alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, he forms one of the deadliest attacking line-ups in world football. The 27-year-old was untouchable last season and averaged 3.6 shots on goal per game according to WhoScored. Alongside this, he also completed 2.1 dribbles and always looked to beat his man on every single possible occasion. Salah not only looked to score himself though and averaged 1.8 key passes every outing – as he delivered eight assists. Neville was most likely claiming that Salah would leave to wind up Liverpool fans due to his Manchester United roots, but they can sit back and simply laugh at the pundit now, with Salah surely set to stay in Merseyside for the foreseeable future after his latest comments on the Reds.
